Job Description

This fantastic Job opportunity involves working in our Income Management Team within the Housing Division. The Income Management Officer is responsible for maximising the rental income for the authority by collecting rent, minimising rent arrears, and supporting customers to help sustain their Council tenancies.

Responsibilities:

You’ll report all deaths to the H M Coroner in accordance with the Coroner’s Act. You’ll use our in-house systems to accurately record information relating to any sudden death within the jurisdiction. You’ll respond to both telephone and email enquiries from bereaved families as well as internal and external partners and ensure these are answered in an efficient manner. You’ll liaise with stakeholders such as Police, Hospitals, GP’s, Fire Service, EMAS etc to gather information and ensure that all necessary reports are obtained. You’ll be integral to allowing the timely release of the deceased. Additionally, you’ll report of all treasure trove within the jurisdiction.

Requirements:

You’ll have experience of working in an environment where sudden deaths are investigated. You’ll have knowledge of the Coroner’s Act, Coroner’s Rules, Tissue Act and Registration Acts sufficient to provide information and guidance to the bereaved and medical professionals. Using problem-solving skills, you’ll be able to manage difficult situations especially when presented with conflicting information during an investigation. With tact and sensitivity, you’ll be committed to ensuring all deaths are handled with dignity.
