Job Description

Our in-house Schools Catering service has recently been subject to an improvement and efficiency review and an exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 new Area Manager’s to play a pivotal role in managing teams of Heads of Kitchens and Catering Assistants across multiple school sites. You will have the enthusiasm and skills to drive forward a refreshed and dynamic catering service to primary schools across the borough delivering excellent high quality school meals, committed to helping achieve our values:

Responsibilities:

  • Working within the Schools Catering service the Area Manager will provide management and supervision to a team of employees, overseeing the delivery of a high performing catering services to primary schools ensuring that the service achieves its key priorities and retains compliance with relevant legislation and standards, whilst contributing towards the overall Council Plan and supporting strategies.
  • Reporting to the Catering Operations Manager, the Area Supervisor will be responsible for the operational delivery of the kitchens under their area of responsibility, ensuring a customer focused approach, compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Responsible for measuring, assessing, and taking relevant action to support monthly KPI’s to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing teams and performance to achieve core priorities and outcomes, ensuring high levels of attention to detail and compliance
  • Critical eye for detail
  • A passion for food
