Job Description

This is a key role within Border Force Heathrow Region, Corporate Services Command, Technology and Projects Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, supporting the implementation of deliverables, utilising project management techniques. The team can have multiple projects running at the same time, and the post holder will mainly focus on infrastructure and estates related projects. Working using your own initiative, self-motivation and a flexible approach is also required for this diverse and busy role.

Responsibilities:

• Implementing any recommendations identified in the Covid risk assessment to ensure a Covid secure work environment.
• Escalating any concerns with the quality of PPE.
• Preparing updates for project sponsors and commissioning work from seniors as required.
• Meeting regularly with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to review progress on all ESR projects and seek to resolve any issues causing delays in project delivery.
• Reviewing Estate Service Requests (ESRs) and offer advice prior to their submission.
• Coordinating and carrying out infrastructure and estates projects as directed by the Business using Agile methodologies.
• Arranging delivery of PPE to terminals and other locations within the region.
• Managing the Heathrow central store of PPE.
• Submitting the regions weekly PPE return.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders, including Other Government Departments (OGDs), in-house service teams, Border Force Heathrow colleagues at all grades as required to develop project plans.
• Arranging for the ordering of PPE from National Uniform Managed Service (NUMS) and other suppliers.
• Monitoring and summarising the PPE stock returns to ascertain the usage of Covid PPE for the region.
• Completing and regularly reviewing the Covid risk assessment for Custom House.

Requirements:

• Experience of working in demanding circumstances and situations often to tight deadlines and of working with multiple projects at once, monitoring finance, deliverables and outcomes.
• Experience of managing projects to successful conclusion.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and literacy skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience of influencing outcomes to business benefit.
• Experience of developing positive relationships with a wide number of external organisations at a working level.
• Working knowledge of Border Force, and Ministry of Justice estates.
• Sound IT skills, including confidence in managing a database and a knowledge of, or confidence in how to use, MS Office 365 applications, SharePoint.
