Job Description

The Board of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is seeking up to three additional non-executive members to replace retiring members and to build future board resilience. Our responsibilities mean that we need a board with a broad range of skills. We are looking for individuals who can contribute their particular experience and views while also working constructively as part of a team to reach collective Board decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for managing internal projects to monitor, at a detailed and complex level, several key performance indicators within the overall suite.
• General quarterly analysis of Highways England’s performance against its suite of key performance indicators and performance indicators.
• Use your analysis to identify potential areas of Highways England’s performance where ORR might consider undertaking further investigations and/or escalating an issue with the company.
• Working with Highways England to understand, challenge and improve the plans it has in place to meet its performance targets and deliver better outcomes for road users.
