Job Description

The Finance and Procurement team lead on the provision of finance services, business planning, business monitoring, procurement, internal audit, financial governance and risk management. We are a small team of 11 staff. This team sits within the Corporate Operations directorate. As a result of these activities and its position at the centre, the team works closely with all directorates within ORR.

This is a wide-ranging role, supporting the Associate Director, Finance and Governance across several elements of the finance function. The Management and Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring that the finance operations of ORR run smoothly, and that accurate and timely management information is produced for the Executive Committee each month. This role also has oversight of the statutory financial accounts and other external reporting for ORR.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and accompanying summary report, providing insightful commentary on the results and incisive variance explanations for senior management.
• Ensuring that business processes are documented and are kept up to date, to maintain strong financial controls.
• Ensure that KPIs are met eg prompt payments target, and developing further KPIs where helpful.
• Ensure that the Oracle finance system is fit for purpose and that issues are reported quickly to the system support partner and followed up.
• Manage finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, balance sheet reconciliations, and expenses.
• Oversight of the preparation of the annual financial statements and interim accounts.
• Assist with the development of management reporting to meet business needs.
• Management and development of a team of 5 staff.
• Oversight of external reporting including monthly reporting to the Treasury.
