Job Description:

The jobholder will be a member of the IG Senior Management Team helping set direction, develop and lead wider IG business and resources involved in civil gross misconduct investigations, intelligence development, investigation support and wider prevention activity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring delivery of results and accurate forecasting through the planning and deployment of resources within your teams.
• Ensuring quality, pace and governance of work carried out in your teams, coaching appropriately. Overseeing triage of criminal and civil casework across IG alongside counterparts in IG Intelligence and IG Civil.
• Developing effective collaborative working relationships across HMRC to deliver the best overall outcome towards the departmental goals.

Requirements:

• Representing FIS and the Department at stakeholder and practitioner forums and communicating key messages to the wider enforcement community. This includes proactive engagement with key partners like the Crown Prosecution Service.
• Active and visible member of the Internal Governance Senior Management Team. Manage and monitor resources in accordance with agreed priorities, including negotiation of additional resources when required, in order to meet operational requirements.
• Constructively challenge staff and senior leaders within FIS and beyond towards improved delivery.
• Approximately 5 direct reports, with an overall command which totals approximately 50 over 3 locations – Manchester, Nottingham and Croydon Regional Centres.
• A requirement to use and appropriately manage through Performance and Development Conversations and to develop our culture.
