Job Description

The main purpose of this role is to co-ordinate the daily operations of the Accounts Payable administrators, allocate work, provide hands-on support and assistance to ensure the accurate timely processing and accounting of manual payments to a range of stakeholders including; SJP clients, the Partnership, HMRC, suppliers and other third parties.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll lead the Accounts Payable and SE operations team, with direct management of at least 1 Level 6 report and oversight of the rest of the team (5)
• Own the coordination of the Accounts Payable teams in their daily payment and balance recording processes, including allocation of available resource through use of team rota and prioritisation whilst ensuring all controls operated to the required standard.
• Deal with the more complex processes and queries with appropriate communications to all levels of stakeholders – with ability to ascertain solutions to issues when necessary
• Contribute as a AP and SE subject matter expert applying specialist knowledge in projects both internally and across the company
• Deliver PT-X and BACS direct credits and direct debits in a controlled environment
• Provide cover to the administrators when needed to ensure that payments are processed and recorded in the ERP system in accordance with service level agreements
• Act as deputy to the Accounts Payable Manager

Requirements:

• You’ll have detailed knowledge & experience of standard AP processes across the industry – in particular good practices for the functions.
• Good understanding of relevant payment, fraud, and Anti Money Laundering guidelines as well as HMRC requirements
• Thorough knowledge of Accounts Payable Policies and how these impact the day to day operations
• Good knowledge of Business World – with ability to train team members and interrogate the system for problem solving and the use of appropriate coding
• Knowledge of Concur System for expenses and PT-X system
• Knowledge of banking systems and Treasury Management Systems including the ability to train others and interrogate the systems for problem solving
• Strong problem solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
