Job Description:

You’ll manage the day-to-day running of the new services and work with the team to identify opportunities to improve and iterate the service so that it meets user needs, is efficient and sustainable, and supports Ministers’ priorities for change.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Performance Analysis profession for DLUHC. You’ll be based in the Digital Delivery team, working on a range of citizen and civil servant facing services with several multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide leadership to Product Managers and Agile Business Analysts, helping them build performance frameworks by identifying what needs to be measured, developing hypotheses and testing what success looks like
• Own and manage strategic work – e.g. community building and training; or analytics implementation policies; benchmarking and agreeing common performance indicators
• Own the management and development of analytical instrumentation and be responsible for accurate data collection implementation, to influence the Product Manager to make evidence-based decisions
• Lead the production of accurate, engaging and actionable analysis, using judgment to tell engaging stories with data, relevant to the appropriate audience (from ministers to junior colleagues)

Requirements:

• Identify and anticipate breaking news stories and respond with swift, robust and appropriate responses at short notice and under pressure.
• Develop proactive longer-term media strategies and provide regular handling advice on policy briefs to Ministers and policy officials on sensitive, complex and high-profile issues.
• Have personal impact in the full range of press office work from skilfully and effectively briefing journalists to advising ministers face to face with authority.
• Use the full range of channels in promoting our priorities, maximising social media and using relevant insight to get the best possible results.
• Understand departmental and Ministerial priorities so you can communicate key messages clearly, accurately and creatively.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Ministers, private offices, special advisers, senior officials, journalists, stakeholders and colleagues in other departments.
• Work effectively with communications colleagues in all disciplines across the department, so that press plans are joined up with overall communications strategies.
