Job Description

Our Energy unit deliver projects to a wide range of clients across the defence, existing and nuclear new build industry. Due to recent project wins and continued growth of our business, we are recruiting a Senior C&I Designer to join our team. The work will involve leading the production of C&I designs in line with project requirements, as well as providing close liaison and support to all other disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Identify any changes to design and inform the wider team, in particular the Lead C&I Engineer and Project Engineering Manager.
• Identify any functional technical, safety and engineering risks and inform the Lead C&I Engineer
• Take into consideration manufacture, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning when developing solutions.
• Develop and carry out work in line with the Project Execution Plan.
• Ensure solutions meet all discipline-related legal requirements including CDM, safety (including application of the engineering design principals), environmental and site licence conditions, and that deliverables and solutions generated are adequately underpinned.
• Ensure understanding and application of relevant legislation, client and project-specific policies, procedures and design standards.
• Produce Minutes of Meetings.

Requirements:

• Systems architecture drawings
• Communication and cable selection, routing and cable management drawings
• Power cabling designs
• Control and safety systems design, including safety PLC systems
• Control and Instrumentation cabinet designs
• Instrumentation loop drawings and hook-up diagram designs.
• MCC, Switchboard and Distribution Board designs
• Evidence of having a sound working knowledge and experience of relevant standards including BS7671 and CDM legislation
• Conversant with building information modelling design tools, for example, Revit and Navisworks.
• Good communications skill and organisational skills.
• Keen to mentor and coach other team members, for example, junior designers.
