Responsibilities:

• Commercial awareness and an ability to spot opportunities to support our customers and the development of business opportunities in relation to the growth of fee income
• The promotion of risk management advice through internal stakeholders and customers
• Manage the relationships and risk profile improvement for a significant portfolio of major clients
• Undertake a range of liability risk surveys, consultancy work and training services
• Support and enhance our customer propositions
• Produce high quality professional reports, providing best practice advice to customers and underwriters
• Complete research into technical areas and provide up to date information for colleagues, other stakeholders and clients
• To support and enhance our Group Underwriting and customer propositions

Requirements:

• Knowledge of current and emerging liability related risks and knowledge of relevant legislation and it’s application in an occupational environment
• Awareness of the principles and practices of the insurance industry, relevant to the role
• An understanding of the way liability works the types of cover likely to be in place and the way that claims will arise and be defended
• A willingness to provide training courses and presentations to our customers and stakeholders
• A track record of success in Employers’ and Public Liability Risk Management, and/or Product quality control
• CMIOSH, CIRM, CII, MCQI or other equivalent professional qualification and evidence of continued professional development is advantageous
• To be familiar with related exposures and common controls, be able to analyse deficiencies and to define and clearly illustrate relevant and effective risk improvement advice
• An enquiring mind with the ability to probe logically to establish the key exposures, common controls and analyse deficiencies with an ability to explain and articulate the business case for risk management to our customers and brokers
