Job Description

The Revenue Optimisation Team Leader will work within the Revenue Management Team. The Revenue Management Team are here to maximise revenue and to make sure our trains are priced in the best way for our customers. We want to be competitive yet relevant, ensuring our customers pay fair prices for the journeys they take, whilst also maximising revenue for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the team strategy with respect to short/medium-term demand/supply planning to increase revenue and formulate strategy for exceptional situations that will drive demand
• Developing key KPI’s and monitoring team and performance levels. Ensuring that any negative variances to target are addressed and rectified
• Interpret all key data available from a range of sources to produce recommendations to assist in the making of key business commitments.
• Responsible for the day to day running and integrity of the Revenue Management (RM) System with specific emphasis on input/seed data and forecast accuracy measurement and improvement
• Assisting the Head of Revenue Optimisation with defining strategic direction of system developments
• Developing appropriate, productive ways of using the RM system and Reservations System to maximum advantage ensuring it meets the strategy direction
• Working closely with the regional teams to develop and implement a coherent regional strategy
• Be a key liaison with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to determine tactical activities and provide commercial expertise in any planning choices
• Provide expert input into the development path for both the RM and Reservations system with a view to maximising revenue

Requirements:

• Strong skills in presenting and communicating numerical information in a straightforward and compelling manner to a wide audience.
• Highly numerate and IT systems literate
• Ability to set strategic revenue impacting decisions independently
• Ability to build business cases for change
• Knowledge of rail industry revenue and reservations systems
