Job Description:

The Regional Family Engagement Coordinators, working directly with and reporting to the Executive Director of Family Engagement, manage and coordinate family and community engagement opportunities with their assigned regions, coordinating vertical K-12 alignment engagement opportunities within and between schools to support the District’s priorities. This position will help lead the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) model of engagement by improving communication between the schools and the students’ families in the region by promoting parent engagement in children’s education; and to encourage greater community involvement with schools. Responsibilities will include recruiting and managing of Family Ambassadors assigned to their regions; supporting engagement activities at schools within their regions; coordinating family activities and engagement supports with other regionally-bases coordinators, including but not limited to Area Superintendents and regional communication specialists; and coordinating providing professional development and training for staff on the engagement best practices. The goal is to assist parents in becoming more involved with their children’s education and developing regional resource centers for parents and district staff which will promote a sense of community and regional cohesiveness.

Responsibilities:

• Focus on equity and access in family engagement for all families in the district by region with school age children, K-12.
• Provide leadership to Family Ambassadors conducting family engagement initiatives and processes for families, school personnel, and organizations.
• Recruit, monitor, support, and evaluate the progress of implementation of the NNPS model of engagement at schools within the assigned region, with the expectation that the number of schools within each region would increase at a rate assigned by the Executive Director of Family Engagement.
• Build the capacity of school-based staff to partner with families to drive student success, including building educator capacity to improve family engagement, implementing new programming to improve school, community, and district level family engagement, and coordinating all regional professional development events and meetings related to family engagement.
• Assist in managing and aligning the efforts of the Family Ambassadors with department goals and District priorities; managing the timesheets of Family Ambassadors to align with federal grant requirements; and serve as the first point of support for Family Ambassadors within the assigned region.
• Monitor and support weekly/regular communications to families developed by Family Ambassadors, including regional virtual family engagement sessions for parents and community members.
• Assist in the District’s efforts to solicit ideas, values, and concerns from families about school and District decisions.
• Support the overall work of the Department of Communications and Engagement and the efforts of the Community Engagement and Partnerships team, including support and collection of information for the website and partnership registry.
