Position Title: Quality Engineer
Company: Smith+Nephew
Location: Kingston upon Hull, UK
Job Description
This is a phenomenal opportunity for a Quality Engineer to grow and develop skills learned in your education and experience so far! There’s great opportunity to apply what you know to a business that is committed, through collaboration, to changing the lives of others.
Ideally we’re looking for someone with either some experience or knowledge of a Machine Shop/Precision Engineering and the requirements of a Quality Engineer in that setting. Using your knowledge and experience we expect this role to spend time on the shop floor, working with technicians to achieve the best possible quality through our processes.
Much of this role means working to maintain the appropriate controls and processes in place with our manufacturing teams, and make sure products follow the required standards, by maintaining the quality management system procedures. In doing so the chance to define improvements along the way, highlight trends in non-conformance and other data sources to instigate improvements in our products and processes will present itself.
Responsibilities:
- Implement robust quality improvement programs, with our internal and external partners
- Provide Quality Engineering support for production projects, leading validation activity and change controls
- Lead the development and evaluation of Statistical Process control within the manufacturing facility
- Perform all activities in compliance with relevant GMP and Quality Systems standards and specifically with FDA Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485
Requirements:
- Degree trained in a relevant engineering, science, quality or business management based field/equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong technical background and a proven problem solver
- Detailed knowledge and experience of the GMP and Quality Standards, which are applicable to the site and suppliers of goods and services
