Position Title: Lead React Native Developer

Job Description

As a member of the nascent Digital & Branch Engineering function this role will help shape the IT landscape and build out our trading platforms as we modernise, delivering a vastly better experience for our Postmasters and Customers. The team is starting small, but the intention is to grow it significantly over the next 12 months. As an early member of the team, there are good career development opportunities available. All solutions will be deployed to the AWS cloud and be based on serverless technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce fully functional services for use by clients both internal and external
  • Conduct/participate in code-review process to maintain clean, understandable, well-tested code
  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation stages
  • Help design both application and infrastructure requirements

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of backend service development
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one of Typescript or Golang programming languages. If only proficient in one training will be provided in getting up to speed with the other.
  • 2-4 years experience with React, React-Native
  • Experience with leverage and re-use of third-party libraries and APIs
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services
  • Experience in solution design in AWS and the AWS CDK framework. Further training can be provided if the candidate is not familiar with this, but significant advantage for early hires.
  • Familiarity with OOP/OOD design principles
