Position Title: Developer

Job Description

We are undertaking a large project to modernise and improve our whole website and are looking to bring in great developers who can write readable and extensible code and can help bring new ideas and possible technologies into our technical landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce fully functional products and features for use by clients both internal and external
  • Conduct/participate in code-review process to maintain clean, understandable, well-tested code
  • Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation stages
  • Help design both application and infrastructure requirements
  • Interface with wider digital team (UX, Design, CMS)

Requirements:

  • Capability working with Java in an IDE and deploying to Tomcat instances
  • Capability with SQL databases
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, beneficial to have experience in React/Vue/Angular
  • High capability with CSS and writing it through an SCSS intermediary
  • High capability with HTML and knowledge of writing it using FreeMarker templates
  • Experience with version control especially Git
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services
  • Familiarity with OOP/OOD principles
  • Familiarity with developing and using micro-services
  • Familiarity with continuous integration, operating in DevOps domains
  • BSc degree in Computer Science, relevant field or equivalent

On Saturday 7th July Post Office colleagues joined thousands of people on the London Pride.
