Job Description

The Financial Reporting Projects and Change team is responsible for change activity, supporting delivery of strategic and regulatory projects impacting the financial reporting of the Life Companies. This role is a secondment/FTC in the Data Inputs & OFSAA work stream, focussed on the delivery of the accounting data transformation from our ReAssure business required to enable the production of IFRS17 results. The overall objective of this workstream is ensuring all data ingestions to OFSAA (the IFRS17 transformation tool) delivers accurate information for ingestion into Oracle Analyser (the CSM generation tool) to enable the delivery of IFRS17 results.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional accountancy advice to multiple stakeholders (incl external) in a range of business environments, such as within a regular reporting cycle or within a project environment to inform business decision making.
• Maintain a high level of business accountancy knowledge and understanding of multiple different reporting.
• Manage and undertake analysis of complex business data to provide recommendations on commercial viability and tax efficiency of new initiatives/ventures.
• To manage the processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• To manage/support the delivery of designated accounting activity throughout the project change cycle. Deliveries include accounting requirements captured, reviewed, validated against IT designs and implemented into BAU
• Communicating complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business both in the UK and potentially globally and influencing outcomes.
• Ensuring a continually high quality of output to ensure solutions are a good fit for the end user and/or for further inputs

Requirements:

• To fully understand the interactions of all life funds from a financial reporting viewpoint to provide insights to stakeholders.
• Manage significant complexities throughout the end-to end process: operate with agility, flexibility and solutions-orientation. The role holder is expected to anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and recommend for solutions.
• Maintain a high level of accountancy knowledge and understanding of multiple different reporting bases (e.g. IFRS, S2) in order to ensure a comprehensive consultancy service can be provided to business decision makers.
• To lead the processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Qualified accountant with knowledge of finance operational and reporting processes
• Technical skills and knowledge of accounting and reporting processes in a financial services organisation (preferably a life insurer)
• Communicating complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business and influencing decisions
• Strong facilitation skills
