Job Description

The purpose of the role is to provide effective assistance to the Operations Team as an Administrator. You will support in the co-ordination of data and reporting requirements for our clients along with supporting the consultancy and project management offices with general administrative duties.

Responsibilities:

• Become a centre of knowledge for the value of flexibility
• Evaluate market and service structures, identifying participation criteria for all relevant asset types, closely coordinating with the trading and optimisation teams
• Support on a range of business development activity for the flexibility team, including evaluating novel asset classes and business models
• Stay close to relevant industry trends, and feed Octopus Energy’s views in consultations and regulatory forums providing quantitative analysis where necessary
• Use data analysis, modelling, and first-hand research to help inform strategy and provide other ad hoc support to the flexibility team
• Support the internationalisation of our flexibility offerings

Requirements:

• An ability to relate to individuals and engage with other team members
• An agile mindset; you can both nurture a commercial offering and optimise the implementation to the smallest detail
• A relevant degree and/or experience in a relevant field
• Demonstrated techno-economic / financial modelling, both rapid and comprehensive
• An interest in sustainability, green energy and Net Zero power systems
• An ability to pick up work in a fast paced environment with a willingness to learn
• Experience digesting and translating technical requirements and policy/regulatory information for commercial applicability
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• An ability to respond to complicated briefs from stakeholders, make decisions and communicate an appropriate response/strategy
• Entrepreneurial instincts with clear bias for informed action and track record of leading new initiatives with limited resources and support
