Position Title: Statistical Officer

Job Description:
The role will require you to apply your statistical skills to innovate and solve problems in data management and analysis. You will be using a range of software packages and analytical techniques. The ability to explain and communicate your findings to a varied audience will also be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Use innovative techniques to acquire new data sources
- Be responsible for statistical production and solve problems in data management and analysis
- You may also manage junior grades including non-analysts
- Deliver high quality statistical advice and analysis to inform debate and influence decision making
- Your day to day tasks will require you to;
- Using specialist statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, R or equivalent to conduct research
- Work proactively with customers to identify their requirements, share knowledge and information
- Survey design and management
- Use a range of software packages and analytical techniques
Requirements:
- You will need to be available to work varying hours at different times depending on workloads, including in the evening and on Saturdays when necessary.
- You will need to be flexible in your working hours to meet the needs of the public.
- If your application is successful, you will need to apply for a Basic Disclosure Criminal Record
- Certificate and in addition we will carry out a 3 year employment history check.
- You will need to be proficient in the use of a computer and a smartphone, as you will be issued with a laptop and smartphone to help you manage your work.
- A broadband internet connection at your home address is an operational requirement for this role.
- If you do not currently have a broadband connection at your home address, you must be prepared to have one installed prior to taking up an offer of employment.
- A car and a current valid UK Driving licence (inclusive of the rights of EU Nationals) are required for this role.
