Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Follow up IT Now requests (Helpdesk)
• Follow up and give support to users via various channels, e.g. MS Teams
• Develop training material content to be used by training networks (local trainers) and the Academy
• Support developments of divisional predictive tools according to agreements with business strategy and needs. Tools mentioned here relates to both DS Smith developed tools as well as commercially customised tools.
• Member of the key development teams
• Lead lab testing campaigns, e.g. paper testing, board grade properties testing, box testing (BCT), supply chain simulation (vibration table, drop tests). Prepare prototypes and conduct lab testing follow-up and reports.
• Make suggestions of integration to other tools and business systems, and working with relevant business leads and IT leads to support implementation.
• Support testing of new releases of the software’s
• Ensure safe custody of the intellectual property and security of the tools.
• Working within the formal delivery structure (Regional Delivery Leaders, Divisional Delivery leaders and Material Optimisation leaders)

Requirements:

• Degree educated ideally with qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Mechanics
• Paper and Corrugated industry understanding
• FEM (Finite Element Method)
• Experience in specification and delivery of IT related projects
• Proven experience in project management skills
• Good communication skills, able to work in a systematic and rigorous way
• Works well with others and inspires them to a common purpose
• Sufficient leadership and coaching skills with a proven ability to challenge and ability to influence people at all levels of the organisation
• Fluent in English and another foreign language would be a plus
• Good knowledge of Paper, Board and Box Optimisation areas are required. Examples of specific technical knowledge/experience
