Responsibilities:
- Operating as part of a team responsible for the upkeep of all aspects of health & safety across site.
- Health & Safety administration – Ensuring all communications, reports and processes are completed accurately, with a fine attention to detail and within the timescales permitted. Documentation to be filed and kept in an orderly and logical manner.
- Health & Safety documentation – Creation and review of safe working procedures and risk assessments, especially following accident trends or the introduction of new equipment/processes. Analysis of accident data and trends to provide pro-active courses of action.
- Health & Safety culture – Assist in the creation and delivery of presentations to assist management teams and key personnel with their roles and responsibilities. Engagement with site-based colleagues to highlight poor practice. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written allied with an ability to interact and engage with colleagues at all levels.
- Health & Safety support – Provide holiday and absence cover as well as day to day support for the health & safety manager. A good base knowledge of health & safety in the workplace is essential along with willingness to advance and progress. Ability to drive a continuous improvement of health & safety culture with a positive attitude.
- Health and Safety Training- inductions for contractors, employees, and manual handling training.
- Monthly fire extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections.
- Supporting department trainers and risk assessors
- Recording the PPE and First Aid supplies, ordering stock when needed.
- Support the Management Team with any other duties
