Position Title: Accounts Payable Officer

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join the Accounting department within our Stock Accounting team. A highly organised, vibrant, and fast paced department, responsible for ensuring payment deadlines for the UK are met. You will form an integral part of a large team, providing an effective and efficient accounts payable function, where you will utilise your accounting experience, exceptional organisational skills, and impeccable attention to detail. If you thrive in a deadline oriented, fast moving environment, this may be an ideal role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting managers in the implementation of processes and upholding existing high standards
- Reconciling suppliers’ statements
- Processing a high volume of invoices received from suppliers using our bespoke accounting invoice matching software
- Recognising trends in data and the affect they have on the department and wider business
- Assisting in month-end and year-end tasks
- General ad hoc admin duties
- Liaising with suppliers and solving their queries
- Liaising with various internal Head Office Departments responding to last minute challenges and requests as they arise
- Supporting existing and new members of the team
- Prioritising conflicting deadlines
Requirements:
- Significant experience within an Accounts Payable environment is essential, with proven experience processing large volumes of invoices daily
- Robust core knowledge of accounting principles, with AAT/ACCA/Bookkeeping training being desirable
- Flexible, used to problem solving and capable of demonstrating initiative
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Proficient user for SAP FI/ SAP MM
- Self-motivated with exemplary organisational skills, being able to multi-task and manage their own workload
- Outstanding attention to detail, with strong numerical skills, working precisely under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in partnering with stakeholders
