Position Title: Customs Compliance Analyst

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive and highly motivated health and safety advisor to join our Trading Compliance team in this fast-paced, quality focussed retail environment. If you are passionate about occupational safety and want to make a real impact, then this role is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Transferring technical Customs knowledge to the operational business
- Investigating trade agreements, import requirements and prohibitions & restrictions relating to the classified products and support the buying and international teams to
- determine whether the products meet the qualifying requirements
- Improving and maintaining our classification log built from various internal data sources
- Collecting detailed information from various sources to enable your classification
- Performing and reviewing the classification and record the basis for your classification decision
- Creating process flow charts and info guides for team members and business stakeholders
- Communication with external and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use their own initiative
- An aptitude to work with data
- Working Customs knowledge and experience of the UK Tariff Schedule and the application of the General Rules of Interpretation (GIR) and Explanatory Notes is highly
- beneficial
- An understanding of Import and Export Customs procedures and current Government legislation on Food and Chemical materials such as EHC /MSDS is desirable.
- A logical mindset and an enthusiastic problem solver
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Good communication skills and ability to adapt language when necessary
- Food Science or Chemical engineering Degree is beneficial
- German language skills advantageous but not essential
- Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
