Position Title: Legal Counsel

Currently our hybrid working model allows employees to work 3 or more days in office and the remaining time remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising on, reviewing and negotiating distribution agreements and associated documentation for our UK, Luxembourg and Irish fund ranges;
  • Providing legal support to our wholesale distribution business for third party management company clients including Request For Proposal requests; onboarding; investment management agreements, mandate changes; transitions and terminations;
  • Providing legal support to our Luxembourg management company and advising on operational, governance, regulatory and other ad hoc matters;
  • Advising on, reviewing and negotiating other asset management related agreements with clients and service providers;
  • Providing legal support to our distribution and compliance colleagues on regulations and laws affecting our distribution activities;
  • Assisting with regulatory change projects and business change projects and initiatives;
  • Assisting generally with legal issues arising with funds and investors from time to time and providing ad hoc legal advice to other internal departments;
  • Assisting others in the legal team with matters arising from time to time; and
  • Ability to instruct and manage external counsel.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Strong negotiation and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise appropriately across a wide range of work;
  • Ability to proactively build relationships at all levels within the organisation;
  • Flexible, adaptable and keen to be involved in a wide variety of legal work;
  • Strong professional presence with good interpersonal, team working and influencing skills;
  • Good commercial acumen;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Ability to manage external legal advisers where relevant; and
  • Ability to find innovative solutions within acceptable levels of risk.
