Job Description

Chapel Allerton Primary School hope to recruit a full-time SEN Support Assistant; to work 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil with complex needs. The child requires full-time 1:1 support and accesses an individualised curriculum and timetable throughout the school day. Due to the child’s needs; it would be desirable that the candidate has some knowledge of using visual strategies to support the pupil’s learning. The candidate will be required to implement the provision that is set out by the class teacher and SEND team.

Responsibilities:

• Be resilient and have patience alongside a caring and understanding nature
• Experience in caring for those who have learning needs and require an active personalised curriculum.
• Have energy and enthusiasm to support a pupil with various learning and behavioural needs.
• Taking direction from class teachers, SLT, and senior support staff and using initiative to complete tasks to the best of their ability
• Ideally, the suitable candidate will have experience and a good understanding of working with children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Supporting a pupil with SEND, complex needs on a 1:1 basis
• Implementing daily routines which will include specific interventions such as speech and language, Lego club and movement and play.
