Job Description

These LAS posts are working within various locations and essentially involve the assessment and treatment of patients within an allocated team within Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.The doctor may be expected to change teams at short notice to cover other Trust Grade / CT Doctors within the Trust.Clinical work consists of the assessment and treatment of patients referred to the Team that the doctor will be attached with. The LAS is expected to make a full assessment of each patient admitted / newly referred and is responsible for the preparation of an admission summary and for the presentation of cases at ward rounds or letters / care plans for out-patients.

Responsibilities:

• The Trust Grade LAS may have several outpatient clinics per week supervised by and held at the same time as the Consultant’s / Associate Specialist’s clinic.This post will commence once all clearances have been completed.
• The position will be for a duration of up to 6 months for the rotations or more with a view for extension within another area .
