Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced qualified accountant to join our Head Office Accounts team. This is an ideal role for a positive, proactive and enthusiastic team player. You will be joining our Head Office team and will be reporting and working closely with the Head of Accounting to establish and uphold appropriate procedures and controls. This is a key role to support and strengthen the accounting function and an exciting opportunity to further your career.

Responsibilities:

• Support month end/year end closing
• Liaising with stakeholders on projects impacting the financial accounts
• Assisting with year-end audit queries.
• Assisting with queries from, and delivery of data to, internal and external auditors
• Ensuring compliance and implementation of new and existing accounting policies
• Supporting the key accounting departments where required
• Ensuring accounting functions are up to date with regulatory changes
• Ensuring accounting functions are up to date with regulatory changes
• Review account transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiency

Requirements:

• Prepare annual financial statements for statutory audit with all supporting notes and schedules
• Previous Audit experience would be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in partnering with stakeholders
• Confident in identifying, resolving and escalating key points/issues requiring immediate address and managing assumptions and decisions.
• Regular review of accounting processes to ensure the best level of efficiency and controls are in place at all times
• Some travel throughout the UK and abroad may be required
• Fully qualified ACCA/ACA is essential
• Excellent computer skills – including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and accounting packages, preferably with experience of SAP FI
• Self-motivated with exemplary organisational skills, able to multi -task and manage their own work
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
• German language is desirable but not essential
• Previous accounting experience including working knowledge of FRS102 and Fixed Assets essential
