Job Description

The Welfare Support Managers are responsible for managing and developing the service’s response to the legacy of welfare reforms and the increasing impact of Universal Credit.

Responsibilities:

• In this post you will be collaboratively working with two other managers to manage and develop the service’s response to the legacy of welfare reforms and the increasing impact of Universal Credit.
• Amongst this group your role will have a particular emphasis on the administration of the Local Discretionary Social Fund and Discretionary Housing Payments.
• The role requires line management, decision making, negotiation and collaborative working skills.
• Technical knowledge of and/or experience in work in a welfare benefits environment would be advantageous.
