With the opportunity of directly working with young people, Clare Lodge is an all-female, welfare only, secure children’s home based in Glinton, Peterborough. We have exciting opportunities for Residential Support Workers. You will need to demonstrate resilience and an ability to build trusting relationships with young people that are meaningful in supporting them in making positive choices. The young people at Clare Lodge require intense support because of their complex needs, therefore working within this environment is rewarding and provides an interesting challenge. Our team of care staff provide individual care and support to young people, while acting as an appropriate role model and advocate for the young person and work closely with other professional disciplines (such as Health and Education) on site to deliver bespoke packages of care and support.

Responsibilities:

•  Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with young people, professionals and parents/carers
•  An ability to interpret and respond effectively to a range of emotions and be able to offer reasonable responses to distress.
•  The resilience and ability to work with individuals who display challenging forms of behaviour.
•  Good Interpersonal and oral /written communication skills.
•  Ability to keep accurate records and write reports such as reporting incidents and providing notes.
•  Clare Lodge operates 24/7 365 days per year. You must be available to work shifts between the hours of 7:30 and 22:00
•  Able to work flexible hours including, weekends and bank holidays.
•  Health and physical wellbeing must allow for safe holding and restraints as well as the physical activities with the young people.
