Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with our busy Private Housing Environmental Health Team at Hull City Council.  We are looking to recruit a Licensing/Enforcement Officer to work within the team with a passion for improving housing conditions.  The role will involve working to improve poor housing conditions within the city, bringing empty properties back into use and licensing Housing in Multiple  Occupation (HMO).  The vacancy is currently within the reactive service request team but officers work flexibly across the reactive and HMO teams.

Responsibilities:

• Working in the Private Housing Environmental team you will mainly be dealing with the private rented sector, you will be responsible for providing an effective and comprehensive, customer-focused service investigating and assessing housing standards;
• assessing potential hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS); and bringing empty homes back into use, all in accordance with legislation and agreed service standards.
