Job Description

The post holder will be responsible for monitoring quality and standards of safeguarding in schools and colleges in Hull, providing clear direction in ensuring high standards of practice in keeping children safe from harm. They will ensure settings are kept up to date with legislative changes within statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children and best practice within education safeguarding. You will work with safeguarding partners to promote safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults in accordance with the Education Act 2002 and Children Act 2004 under the direction of the Head of Access and Inclusion.

Responsibilities:

• You must have experience of delivering, monitoring, and planning services at an operational level, of undertaking change management, planning and implementing new ways of working and of successfully managing activity and performance targets.

Requirements:

• A degree or equivalent level of experience and possession of specialist skills and well-developed knowledge to provide in-depth support to a technical or operational service is essential.
• You will understand how government policy/legislation impacts on council strategy and services and have the ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of possible longer-term implications.
