Job Description

This is a pivotal role in the development of the Parliamentary Estate, and a unique opportunity to lead the strategic estates activity for this iconic World Heritage Site. Strategic Estates represents the majority of the Parliament’s capital spend, with an annual capital budget of approximately £150 million.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Strategic Estates team, driving a value-for-money and collaborative culture across the organisation and it’s suppliers
  • Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, quality, safety and heritage standards, and are aligned with the Estates strategy and the R&R programme
  • Own key stakeholder relationships, including with Parliamentary colleagues, Member bodies, political leadership, and relevant external bodies such as Westminster Council and Historic England
  • Lead on organisational design for the team to maximise efficiencies, ensuring industry best practice delivery processes are in place
  • Oversee heritage collections, ensuring heritage considerations are appropriately considered across all works
  • Act as the SRO for major projects and programmes when required

Requirements:

  • Highly effective leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to drive change and innovation in large complex organisation, maintaining a high-performing and engaged team
  • A relevant degree or accredited qualification in project management, construction or estates management
  • The ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK
