Job Description:

Within IDD, is the Information and Cyber Security Unit (ICSU), indispensable to the FCDO’s success. The unit has multiple functions ranging from advice on cyber security, operational security, risk and incident management, information assurance and IT architecture covering our global network. Led by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), ICSU are responsible for ensuring the FCDO’s information and systems are secure, resilient, and available. Our Team is growing, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Cyber Security in Government. The successful candidate will benefit from on the job learning and exposure to market leading technologies and working with highly skilled and experienced cyber security professionals. Cyber Security work is a leading priority within the FCDO, with senior high-level support and a commitment to the importance of the work.

• IT security policy.
• Cyber Awareness and Training.
• Investigations and Internal Threat.
• Comms and Engagement.

Requirements:

• Ensuring the policy suite meets the requirements for everyone who has access to FCDO systems and keeps to the review schedule agreed with the security policy lead.
• Driving user awareness training as a key mitigation to nearly all Cyber related risks in any organisation. You will work with the cyber training lead to develop and innovate the current training material and to increase our awareness activities across the FCDO.
• Develop and oversee Internal Threat and Investigations capabilities to support leak and conduct investigations that have an IT element.
• ICSU comms and engagement; managing distribution of FCDO wide messaging, the ICSU enquiries mailbox and the IT breach process.
• Ensuring FOIs, PQs and FCDO and Cabinet Office compliance activities are completed to the deadlines provided.
• Deputising for the CISO when required, which can include everything from cross government meetings to Ministerial briefings.
