Job Description:

Reporting to the Data Platform Lead the role will be responsible for delivering and supporting the Greggs Azure data platform in support of the BI strategy and striving for a quality service delivery. As a Data Platform Engineer, you’ll have the ability to make a significant impact to the organization by contributing to the delivery of Business Intelligence with state-of-the-art Azure data Platform components.

Though still designing, developing and delivering new functionality, the key focus of this role will be helping define and being responsible for the Managed Service element of the BI platform. With continuous service improvements such as identifying opportunities for automation, whilst managing any ‘Business as Usual’ tasks that arise, this will allow the Data Platform to adapt at pace as technology changes.

Responsibilities:

• You know what you’re talking about when it comes to data analysis and troubleshooting
• You’re experienced working with Azure Data components, such as Databricks, Data Factory, Data
• Lake, Event Hub, SQL and Analysis Services
• You have a strong understanding of BI concepts and tools
• You’re experienced in understanding and the use of source control and release management technologies such as Azure DevOps
• You have experience in Data Warehousing solutions and Data Modelling methodologies (e.g. Kimball)
• You have excellent SQL knowledge
