For those joining this programme you will specialise from day one in your chosen discipline. During the 3-year Graduate Programme you will learn about different value propositions within the sector, for instance sustainability, land management, clients and pursuits and development services.

Working in teams of consultants you’ll be responsible for your own deliverables, liaising with clients, and given every opportunity to build your skillsets. Working with multi-disciplined teams you’ll also develop core consulting techniques and tools to apply whilst working with our clients in the UK.

You’ll be required to work on a range of environmental projects including major infrastructure, heavy industry and urban regeneration projects that will expose you to a variety of challenges and technical specialists. As part of this, you’ll assist in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, timeframe and quality targets as well as working as part of wider project teams undertaking environmental desk studies, site surveys and assisting with the delivery of technical assessments and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Safety Risk Management (SRM) – The SRM team has significant knowledge and experience in the identification and the management of hazards and safety risks that are associated with railways, industrial processes and other similar safety-critical industries and activities.
• You will assist in tasks such as hazard identification, the determination of safety measures and safety requirements, obtaining evidence of compliance with safety requirements, and preparing safety justification reports, safety plans and system definitions.
• These activities are an integral part of the overall assurance of safety to ensure that safety risks are eliminated or reduced to their lowest manageable level through robust design.
• You will also support activities to specify and/or determine the reliability of high integrity electrical and mechanical systems. Our work requires a true system perspective: rather than looking at just a single engineering discipline we consider electrical, mechanical, civil, telecoms, signalling and even operational elements within complex, safety-critical environments.
