Position Title: Financial Accountant

Job Description

As an Accountant at Starbucks, you will get your energy from running our accounting and financial activities. You will be a critical friend in the Financial Accounting Team, preparing monthly management and year-end financial accounts accurately and on time to the benefit of our business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports EMEA market
  • No direct reports
  • Liaising with cross-functional departments on accounting best practice
  • Makes decisions within set parameters, policies, and practices
  • A retail or Hospitality background in accounting is preferred

Requirements:

  • To have regular meetings with the relevant stakeholders about their P&L accounts as well as discussing the various transactions & projects and highlighting any accounting implications.
  • To produce month-end variance analysis and commentary on assigned profit and loss lines and balance sheets with support schedules.
  • To prepare and review balance sheets and reconciliations in line with the role and ensure their completeness in accordance with period-end and the end timetable with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • To prepare quarterly VAT & assembling data for the monthly, quarterly and annual filings.
  • To support the business in your respective area and support reviewing contracts.
  • To comply with US GAAP and FRS101 filing requirements by studying regulations, adhering to requirements and reporting on differences between US GAAP & FRS 101
  • To review, record and report on internal processes and the appropriate controls in place to remain compliant with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
  • To complete and support on internal and external audits annually.
