Job Description
We are seeking two Forensic Investigator (Fixed Term Contract – 12 months) to work as part of multi-disciplinary team within one of the two Wholesale Departments in the Enforcement & Market Oversight Division. Candidates should have either a background in criminal / fraud investigations or regulatory or other relevant investigations.The Wholesale departments conducts investigations into regulatory breaches and criminal offences by firms and individuals operating in the wholesale arena. Typical cases include insider dealing, market manipulation, misleading statements and systems & controls failings in authorised firms.
Responsibilities:
- Obtaining evidence through the use of appropriate tools and powers.
- Drafting all forms of documents (including witness statements, the statutory notices, and case update papers) and correspondence with subjects, their legal representatives and witnesses.
- Leading challenging interviews of subjects and witnesses using compulsory powers, on a voluntary basis and under caution and recommending on when each format is appropriate.
- Exploring detailed evidence and making recommendations.
- Preparing for, and presenting cases at, internal case committees when required.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues in other areas within the FCA and with external bodies.
- Attending court to give evidence as required.
