As long as you are in a position to travel to the office when required to collaborate with your team and stakeholders you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities. Alongside this, you will be providing real-time cyber defence incident handling to support our Incident Response Teams.
• You will regularly be using data collected from a variety of cyber defines tools such as IDS alerts, firewalls and network traffic logs to analyse events that occur to ensure we’re mitigating threats and also investigating, analysing and responding to cyber incidents. With these incidents in mind, you will be performing analysis of these from a variety of courses, e.g. individual host logs, metwork traffic logs, firewall logs and intrustion detection systems (IDS).

Requirements:

• Skills in assessing security controls (e.g. CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-53), ability to recognise and categorise vulnerabilities in security systems and skills in protecting a network against malware are really important to us. If you also have experience using network analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities such as fuzzing and nmap, protecting networks against malware using NIPS, anti-malware and spam filters and dectection of host and network based intustoins via intrision detection technologies like Snort
