Responsibilities:

• Responsible for corporate tax support to a portfolio of group companies: preparing corporate tax computations, producing tax disclosures for inclusion in their statutory accounts and negotiating with HMRC. Dealing with tax technical issues which regularly arise due to the diverse and complex nature of our businesses and changes in legislation.
• One of a team of four tax professionals led by UK Head of Corporate Tax, involved in UK corporate tax compliance and project work for a large UK tax group and part of a wider UK tax team of fourteen involved also in VAT, Customs and Employment taxes reporting to the Head of Tax UK and Ireland.

Requirements:

• Good tax technical skills. Able to deal with or keen to develop a specialisation in the tax issues which affect our businesses. We have many tax issues to keep abreast of in addition to changes in legislation some of which relate to our airline, our large portfolio of commercial properties and new sites under construction, R & D undertaken as well as many other commercial and international issues and we regularly acquire, develop and dispose of businesses or business segments (although the Group’s main objective is organic growth).
• Confidence to maintain and develop the good working relationships we have with colleagues in the businesses we support. You should also be a good team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines where necessary.
