Job Description

The Deputy Director of Strategy, Campaigns and Digital is a newly created senior role in the Communications team at Ofgem. This couldn’t be a more exciting time to join this team. This person will play a pivotal role at the heart of Ofgem to support the energy regulator’s leadership role in the transition to a sustainable green energy system that’s affordable for consumers.

Responsibilities:

• A demonstrable ability to drive a complex agenda in a complex organisation, establishing excellent relationships, and working flexibly and at pace while maintaining a rigorous focus on longer-term outcomes.
• Excellent financial awareness, and the ability to work with Finance experts and specialists to deliver strategic plans, efficiencies, and value for money gains
• Strong strategy skills, with the ability to interpret a changing context, and to use data and insights both to challenge the status quo and to provide innovative solutions to problems.
• A demonstrable ability to build capability in large organisations and to work with experts and specialists to secure outcomes
• The ability to operate at the most senior level with Ministers, the Board and across government, demonstrating responsiveness, influence, and sound judgment.
• Commitment to Defra’s values, and to building an inclusive, diverse and successful organisation.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire staff, foster wider collaboration, and build capability to drive strategic outcomes, including the leadership of change.
