Job Description

The City of London Open Spaces Department protects, funds and manages over 10,700 acres of historic and natural open space primarily for public recreation and health for the City of London Corporation which includes the ownership and management of the City of London Cemetery & Crematorium in Manor Park E12.  As a Green Flag and Green Heritage site we pride ourselves in maintaining this 200 acre site to an exceptionally high standard.

Responsibilities:

As an ambitious and experienced Media Officer, you will lead on high-profile issues relating to property, planning and transport in the Square Mile. This will involve occasional overseas travel. You will also play a key role in managing media around three historic wholesale food markets – Smithfield, Billingsgate and New Spitalfields. As a key member of the team, you’ll regularly interact with a wide range of London, national and international media outlets to tell a positive story about our work.

Requirements:

As an exceptional communicator, you will be a team player with experience in a story-selling media environment and be comfortable working across a wide variety of issues. Experience in dealing with media enquiries regarding property and transportation will be an advantage. An understanding of key issues affecting the City of London is important – and a commitment to excellence and results is essential.
