Job Description

The Schools of Clinical Medicine and Biological Sciences are looking for a Public Engagement and Communications Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Working with colleagues within the Schools of Clinical Medicine and Biological Sciences and the central University public engagement team, the role holder will manage, coordinate, develop and deliver public engagement activities and training, as well manage the public engagement budget.
• The postholder will use website, social media and print media to make maximum impact and will be responsible for evolving the Schools’ public engagement strategy.
• They will advise researchers at all levels, from PhD students to Professors, on their public engagement activity and provide support to public engagement champions across the two Schools.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant scientific field, experience in public engagement including evaluation and training, experience in science communication, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and be able to write, speak and present clearly with a very high standard of English.
