Overview
Position Title: Delivery Manager
Company: Cabinet Office
Location: Manchester, UK
Job Description
As an accredited member of the Government’s Major Projects Portfolio, this is an exciting time to join our dynamic and growing programme team and make your contribution to the most significant set of changes to electoral law by the UK Government in many years. The Programme is ambitious and substantial and continues to draw significant attention within Parliament, across the media and from a wide variety of commentators interested in how our democracy works.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll experiment with ideas and techniques that make teams high performing, interpreting them for our context and adapting them as you measure their effect.
- We’re looking for people with strong interpersonal skills who enjoy working in a demanding, high profile agile environment. We’re looking for people who are passionate about agile working, who care about technology and who know how to make projects succeed. And we want people who believe that how you work is as important as what you deliver.
- You’ll work closely with the Product Lead to organise and plan work, liaising with technical colleagues, policy leads and key stakeholders, to understand and remove the barriers to deliver new services and products.
- You will be responsible for the high performance of a highly-skilled multidisciplinary team working on delivering products and services as part of the Electoral Integrity Programme (EIP).
- You will be core to decisions that make the EIP Digital Team more effective, and to help us maintain our motivation for the work we’re doing.
- As a delivery manager, you’ll be leading a multidisciplinary team, working closely with technical and policy leads to ensure project deliverables meet the needs of users and the business.
- You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
About Cabinet Office
The Cabinet Office Electoral Integrity Programme (EIP) will deliver key Government manifesto and ministerial commitments including the national roll out of Voter ID; making it easier for overseas electors to vote; improving the transparency of political campaigning; measures to secure our democratic processes, improving the security of postal and proxy voting; and making polling stations more accessible. To deliver this transformational work, it is expected that the Cabinet Office will introduce substantial primary legislation into Parliament at the earliest opportunity. The Programme will run change projects concurrently to deliver substantial supporting secondary legislation, digital innovation and the infrastructure across the United Kingdom to support the successful delivery of the Government’s vision.
