Job Description:

The purpose of this role is to lead a team of multiskilled operatives in a reverse logistics operation focused on providing a best-in-class service for the in-life management of tools and equipment used in the BT network. This role will be instrumental in delivering the Supply Chain’s ambitions of providing a robust and sustainable in-life management service utilising the network of forward stock locations and a national team of mobile testers.
As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members for their day to day activities as well as aspiring to become and SME on all internal processes of managing tools and equipment through their life cycle.
You should be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operation and effective collaboration, ultimately you should lead by setting a good example and engaging the team to achieve goals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage internal stakeholder relationships to ensure minimal impact on wider supply chain operation
• Manage ongoing supplier relationships ensuring stock deliveries/collections are timely
• Creating basic failure mode reports to key stakeholders to manage quality and life cycle of the equipment
• Manage the stock of spares and consumables related to service and repair
• Overseeing day to day operation and promoting a continuous improvement mindset amongst the team
• Monitor team performance and engage in individual performance conversation to ensure team achieved agreed on SLAs and maintain KPIs
• Maintain high levels of safety awareness and adopt a “challenge unsafe bahaviours” attitude towards health & safety
• Collaboration with Supply Chain operations managers, Senior managers to identify, plan and execute change and transformation strategies

Requirement:

• Robust organisational and time management skills
• Experience as a team lead, supervisor or manager of a multi-skilled team
• Background working in a lab, warehouse or workshop environment
• Background in engineering industry (aerospace, mechanical, telecommunications, energy etc)
• Understanding of Lean methodologies and proponent of continuous improvement
• Dealing with complexity, analysing information, and implementing business strategy
