Position Title: Senior Manager – Network Cloud Design

Job Description:

Network Cloud is BT’s Telco Cloud that will underpin critical business functions such as Mobile 5G, ESN and Broaband services. It is vital that Network Cloud is built using the best technology and implemented using industry best practices including the Telecom Security Requirements (TSR).

This role will lead the design and development of Telco Cloud capability within BT, a key enabler at the heart of BTs convergence strategy. You are expected to drive and deliver large scale projects and ensure costs are controlled. Responsible for building a highly skilled team and with an appetite to improve is baked into their DNA.

Responsibilities:

• Be visible across the Network Cloud structure and wider business functions that consume our services
• Managing tenant feature requests requests with assessment against the defined platform roadmap
• Accountable for Network Cloud designs whilst demonstrating wider appreciation of the end-to-end solution (i.e. multi-technology awareness)
• Support direct reports with ongoing development and drive growth of the team into the strategic technology locations
• Responsible for the onboarding of tenants / applications onto the platform. Ability to manage timescales, vendors and technical conversations
• Ensuring that we have accurate technical documentation that describes Network Cloud function, traffic flows and availability
• Guiding the Network Cloud Technical team to produce world class technical solutions
• Responsible for creating standards products and delivering them into service. Where possible delivery will be by Infrastructure As Code (IAC)

Requirements:

• Able to manage a workload and associated prioritisation of demand
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and related orchestration tools
• Managing a team of high skilled I.T professionals across the UK whilst driving development of the team
• Experience architecting and managing large production Private Cloud deployments
• Understanding of security services and processes required to protect critical nation infrastructure
• Proficiency with data center networks and common services required in an I.T. environment
• Experience of Hypervisors such as KVM, VMware, Xen and supporting orchestration services
• Understanding of the fundamentals of public cloud offerings
