Job Description:

Our Engineering Team are looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Senior Engineers and for setting the technical direction for product development.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Leader to join a vibrant team and to play a key part in the digital transformation of one of the UKs most well respected retailers.

Responsibilities:

•  Developing Engineering principles, patterns and standards and promoting adoption and usage across the technology stack.
•  Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver features on the product roadmap.
•  Enhance the engineering and agile delivery processes with the team.
•  Work as part of the Boots Engineering Leadership Team.
•  Coach your engineers on how to achieve their technical, business and personal goals.
•  Build platforms that are performant, reliable, scalable and secure.
• Lead a team of Senior Engineers who work cross functionally across our microservices stack.

Requirement:

•  You are a strong communicator and partner well across engineering and with both technical and none technical stakeholders.
•  A passion for recruiting and developing great engineering talent.
• You have experience in leading an engineering team to achieve business goals;
•  You have excellent knowledge of modern cloud native development ideally in the MERN development stack.
•  You will have a good understanding of technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Service Bus, Apigee, ISTIO, NGINX.
•  You are comfortable in reaching technical trade-offs between short-term team and long-term business needs..
