Position Title: Neighbourhood Warden

Job Description

Barnsley Council are seeking a Neighbourhood Warden to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis (37 hours per week – 7 day shift pattern between 8 am and 11 pm) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £25,419 – £28,226 per annum. The Neighbourhood Warden role: The Wardens will provide a high visibility presence on a daily basis and will work closely with people in local communities. The warden role will be part of the recently launched Joining Forces brand which unites a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for applicants who have experience within relevant areas of the role based on the Job Profile and with a particular focus on dealing with community safety issues in a front line role. You’ll bring to the role excellent communication and relationship building with stakeholders including members of the public. Responsibilities as our Neighbourhood Warden will involve:-Work closely with the Neighbourhood Policing Teams alongside a range of partners to achieve a common goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Full driving license including categories B+E or a willingness to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience of working in a relevant discipline with particular focus on Neighbourhood Policing or working in a front line, high profile role
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed environment to satisfactorily resolve complaints at the earliest tier of intervention in a timely and proficient manner
  • Experience of verbal communication with a range of stakeholders including members of the public, Elected Members and partner agencies
  • Experience of working with sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Experience of community engagement and facilitating community participation

Requirements:

  • Experience of dealing with anti-social behaviour and people presenting with challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and the technical knowledge for effective application of such legislation
