The BBC’s world-class online products (iPlayer, News, Sport, Music, Radio, and many others) reach millions of audience members every week, and create around 1 Billion rows of data per day, but our work doesn’t stop there. We’re also working with other, “offline” parts of the BBC to help them gain an even better understanding of their audiences and aid their decision-making.
In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to work directly with stakeholders across the BBC’s main products (iPlayer, News, Sport, Sounds and more) to come up with and implement innovative data science applications to drive the success of BBC.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility to liaise and advise senior stakeholders on DS work and maintain strong working relationships
- Mentoring, coaching and supervision of junior team members feeding into these core projects when required
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to adapt models and best practices from across the BBC
- Development and maintenance of tools required for stakeholders to make data driven decisions
- Promote best practices and standards across DS work within the team
- Ownership of data science work and key stakeholder relationships within 1-2 of BBCs main products
