Position Title: Development Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an assigned portfolio of projects and activities within the product deployment plan which requires the coordination of internal and external partners in alignment with the Product Development Manager to support delivery of the commercial vision for the product.
  • Assist with the assigned development activities (CAP1, continuous improvement, regulatory etc.).
  • Promote and integrate ways of working within the Development team.
  • Assist with the development and deployment activities for the assigned responsibilities within the team
  • Assist with implementation of new and modified products at factory level, through specifications in SAP.
  • Assist with quality and consistency of product specifications through tracking of monthly analytical results and propose corrective actions where required (with the mentorship of Senior Authority).
  • Act as key contact point for manufacturing to support trials, new product implementations and monitoring of performance data in collaboration with the quality department.
  • Assist with the product specifications and recipes approval in TaO system according to project lead times and product requirements.
  • Ensure development data sheets are uploaded in the product compliance system, in accordance with the product compliance processes.
  • Assist with product specification maintenance in accordance with product quality and factory quality analysis.
  • Supervise and monitor budget spend for development activities within the assigned responsibilities/projects in the cell.
  • Supervise and review progress of the development projects against the agreed timeline.

Requirements:

  • Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Physics qualifications equivalent to 1st or 2nd Degree.
  • Technical competence and applied science background to support development projects.
  • Significant relevant technical experience in product development and product formulation with associated high-level problem-solving skills.
  • Seek opportunities and methods to drive products performance and quality.
  • Ability to think creatively, and proactive in seeking novel solutions within and outside the industry.
  • Identify groundbreaking science fundamentals and how these impacts and crafts future design criteria.
  • Ability to supervise products opportunities and drive continuous improvement plans in conjunction with the suppliers whilst supervising competition and industry advancements and working with suppliers to keep platforms driven and up to date.
  • Good knowledge of the contents and design of products across the risk spectrum. Excellent knowledge of product category across formats more specifically in formulation design.
  • Commercially aware and able to handle both cost and value of projects, including cases.
  • Confirmed leadership skills, with good time management and delegation skills, and proficient in project management.
  • Can lead cross functionally and can work with external suppliers optimally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence across the business.
  • Strong teammate, creative, entrepreneurial, multifaceted, positive can-do attitude supported by a strive to succeed.
  • Agile in fast paced environment and flexible in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities.
  • Drives single point accountability, with ability to identify and make suitable interventions to ensure project time limits are met.
