Job Description

Barnsley Council are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance and Governance Officer to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a part-time (30 hours), fixed term until 31st October 2023. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,578- £43,570 pro rata.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake independent audits of social care records and cases and report findings to senior managers, providing challenge regarding practice in order to drive improvements
• Drive improvement planning through participation in senior management meetings, audits, completion of high level reports and action plans, as well as the development of policies, procedures and training workshops and/or programmes aimed at embedding good practice
• Author policies, procedures and guidance for social care and the multi-agency workforce, as identified through quality assurance activity, annual reviews, changes in legislation and national best practice
• Lead on ensuring quality assurance information and communications are cascaded from senior managers to front line employees. utilising available resources

Requirements:

• Educated to a Degree level
• Willingness to undertake the Councils Leadership Programme
• Experience of auditing and reviewing social care practice, in line with national best practice standards
• Experience of communicating findings from quality assurance activities to a variety of audiences including to Senior Managers, at Board level as well as within workshops with frontline practitioners
