Position Title: Performance Manager

Job Description

The Performance Manager is responsible for the business engagement and management of this approach across the Bank. Ensuring this strategy is fit for purpose, working with the wider Talent Acquisition and Development team as part of the wider employee life cycle (where relevant); as well as with the Culture, Diversity and Inclusion team to ensure our approach supports our aspirations, delivering equal outcomes for all our people regardless of gender or background; together with the Reward team to navigate our links to pay and recognition.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward a (multi-year) review of our strategy in regards to performance, playing a key contribution to our future approach. The role holder will play a significant role aligning this review with the work of the court review (our governing body), wider People & Culture (P&C) work streams, and the Bank’s Strategic Priorities (our key priorities).

Responsibilities:

  • Both in its business as usual form, to ensure all our current key activities are understood and actioned, including; performance reviews, objective setting, feedback, links with our development planning. and longer term to develop and evolve our end to end approach as part of a multi-year review
  • This review will include defining and evolving the approach to giving and receiving feedback, exploring a broad range of options alongside the current 360 process and how these mechanisms can help support our approach to people performance and development
  • Involves ensuring integration across our Bank policies and frameworks (such as our newly formed competencies and values) and working with our colleagues in Shared Services/ across directorates to orchestrate the successful delivery
  • Build effective working relationships with the wider P&C directorate, predominantly links within the Reward and TAD teams to ensure reward and talent processes are coherent and joined up to support the development of our management capability across the Bank
  • Manage the engagement and communication across the Bank for the performance approach, includes working through our central communications team and using a wide range of formal and informal channels to ensure all our performance related practices are well understood, executed and deliver value to the Bank, enabling us to achieve our organisational objectives.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience and expertise in the engagement, design, implementing and maintaining of a performance management approach
  • A solid understanding of the links between performance and talent development (L&D, career development, talent management and succession planning)
  • Proven project and change / transformation management experience to help navigate future change
  • Well-developed influencing skills to shape associated strategies, deliver change, and work with a range of stakeholders flexibly
